Social Media Strategy Workshop

For two years I’ve been perfecting a hands-on social media strategy workshop for higher education to help campus marketers create and execute their social media strategy. It started as a 1-hour conference session, and is now a half-day workshop (modules can be added to fill an entire day). This workshop is tailored for higher education, and is perfect for conferences, campus professional development, or businesses that operate in the higher education space. Past participants have included social media managers for large and small campuses, senior leaders that want to understand how to lead a social media strategy, marketing coordinators for departments or schools/colleges, and small businesses owners.

Workshop Description

My social media strategy workshop for higher education covers how to align your strategies and tactics with goals, how to develop a content strategy and editorial process, must-have guidelines and policies, sources of ongoing professional development, and how to measure your effectiveness. There’s built-in time for individual reflection and planning, as well as sharing with and learning from your peers.

In 2017, I added a workbook to the workshop, and every single attendee told me it was the part that will stick with them. By completing the workshop throughout the workshop, you’ll leave with a draft of a social media playbook you can start using immediately.

The workshop can be completed within four hours, but could easily be lengthened to allow more time for discussion and/or to add additional modules like paid advertising, social listening, and engagement best practices.
