I’m Joining The Faculty of the CASE Social Media & Community Conference

I’ve got some exciting news to share with you! I’m honored to join the faculty of the 2016 CASE Social Media and Community Conference. Whenever folks ask me to name the best higher ed social media conferences, #CASESMC is always in the top three. This year’s conferences is March 30 – April 1 in Chicago. I’m extremely excited to join the CASESMC faculty.

Meet the CASESMC Faculty

CASE has teamed me up with Lori Packer (Web Editor at the University or Rochester) and Kim Brown (Director of Strategic Communication and Digital Engagement at Syracuse University). The CASESMC faculty will present sessions and be on hand to offer information and advice throughout the conference. I will be offering a pre-conference session—Crafting A Social Media Strategy.

The pre-conference will provide an in-depth review of the five pillars of a successful social media strategy: goals, measurement, voice, content, and policies/guidelines. During the main conference I’ll lead a break-out session on using social listening to uncover story telling opportunities.

Other CASESMC Highlights

One of the sessions I’m looking forward to the most is the findings from the 2016 Survey of Social Media in Advancement. New data is always interesting to me, and this will be a good opportunity for campuses to benchmark their own social media work with others around the country.
